So here I am..less than six weeks away and I feel like I should probably start preparing myself with the many necessary items I will need post-op. I'm trying not to wait till the very last minute to go out and try to buy everything in one shopping trip. I've been adding to a list as I think of more and more things I'll need. Here's what I've come up with so far...please feel free to add or suggest anything else you think is necessary or helpful. Thanks!
Here's what I already have
- Zip N Squeeze bags (have 1 package, need more?)
- Juicer
- Blender
- Humidifier
Here's what I need to buy
- Saline nose drops
- Reading pillow (for sleeping/resting at a 90 degree angle)
- Dry erase board
- Ice packs
- Styrofoam cups
- Sippy cups
- Baby toothbrushes

Baby spoons for sure, and a hand held mirror to direct food. Q-tips. Extra dry-erase markers. A bulb syringe for babies to suck snot out of your nose. Aquaphor (lotion-like stuff for your lips and face). Button up shirts for the hospital and first few days. Liquid (infant) tylenol and ibuprofin. Food strainer. Neck pillow.
ReplyDeleteI think that's about it, except for food stuff. And with the zip n squeeze, I hated them and didn't use them except for once - I preferred the syringes from my doctor and sippy cups once I was able.
Thanks Stephanie! I didn't even think about baby spoons or the bulb syringe- very essential! I've also heard some patients were not happy with the Zip n Squeeze- guess I will give them a try and make sure to have the syringes handy!
